This animation was created to go along with the 104th Titanic sinking anniversary podcast we held on April 14th, 2016.

This is our full-length animation of the Titanic sinking, beginning with the iceberg collision and ending with its disappearance. The point of collision is at 1:06. This is a complete animation; not a short animation that was slowed down to match real time. This is also highly accurate, though we have already documented improvements we plan to make for the final game. The animation includes text frequently appearing with what is happening on board the ship. This includes visuals of various interior rooms flooding, lifeboats launching, rockets firing, and the Californian on the horizon. The animation was created in Unreal Engine 4. The exterior model used is not our final model, but an older model created by one of our team members.

There are many informational messages spread throughout the video, but here are some of the main points to jump to:

6:06 - The ship has stopped as damage inspections are carried out.
7:44 - Captain Smith orders engines to 'Half Ahead'.

1:07:22 - Lifeboat 5 encounters lowering difficulties.
1:08:02 - Officer Boxhall launches the first distress rocket in an attempt to signal the ship on the horizon.
1:10:24 - The Carpathia confirms it is on it's way.
1:11:03 - Steam stops venting from the funnels.
1:13:20 - The starboard list is eliminated as Boiler Room 5 floods.
1:21:28 - Lifeboat 8 leaves.
1:28:22 - Suction pumps are activated.
1:31:33 - Lifeboat 6 is launched.
1:36:57 - Water is up to the Titanic's nameplate.
1:39:37 - Titanic begins listing to port.
1:41:43 - Lifeboat 16 is launched.
1:46:54 - Lifeboat 14 is launched.
1:51:18 - Lifeboat 14 is dropped 4 feet into the sea from its falls after they jammed.
1:51:42 - Lifeboat 12 is launched.
1:52:29 - Lifeboat 9 is launched.
1:58:53 - Lifeboat 11 is launched.
2:00:41 - Lifeboat 13 is launched.
2:05:21 - Lifeboat 13 is pushed aft by the discharging condenser, jamming it on the falls.
2:05:50 - Lifeboat 15.
2:05:42 - Lifeboat 13 cannot release itself as Lifeboat 15 comes down on top of it.
2:07:07 - Lifeboat 13 is released and is pulled out from underneath Lifeboat 15 as 15 lands in the water.
2:07:38 - Lifeboat 2 is launched.
2:09:31 - The lights on the horizon disappear.
2:11:52 - Lifeboat 4.
2:12:22 - Lifeboat 10.
2:22:12 - It is now 2AM. The Titanic has 20 minutes left.
2:26:10 - Collapsible Boat D is launched.
2:29:39 - The last messages from the Titanic are heard.
2:30:46 - Collapsible A is slid off the Officers' Quarters roof.
2:31:03 - The Wireless Room is abandoned.
2:31:42 - Collapsible B is thrown from the roof of the office quarters. It lands upside down in the water.
2:34:01 - Survivors distinctly hear 4 explosions from deep within the ship.
2:39:23 - All remaining power is lost. The ship breaks in two.
2:40:36 - Titanic is gone. Rescuers do not arrive for another hour and 40 minutes.

“Waking David” is about the lack of communication within an entire family. A family constructed by some emotionally damaged members, and the current state of kinship-disarray is exasperated due to massive shortages of honest discourse. Director Kevin Nash introduces us to this mystery, one in which every on-screen character – apparently – knows the answer to it, except for Scarlett. Due to Scarlett’s nature, however, she is determined to find answers to her open questions. Since we, the audience, seek similar answers, this places Scarlett in a valuable lead protagonist role.

A family drama of powerful intensity, Kevin Nash's debut feature takes its cue from the Mike Leigh playbook. A young American woman arrives in England seeking to reconnect with her father's family, only to find them peculiarly reticent about her arrival. Delving deeper, she slowly uncovers a web of trauma, deceit and repressed memory attached to her father's legacy. Brimming with excellent performances and powerful scenes of dramatic revelation, Nash's control of a drama predominantly set in one house is impressive, especially given that the performances here are largely improvised.

Scarlett, a successful American health psychologist, passes through London for a conference. Yet her goal is to meet Amy, her hitherto unknown half-sister, and to find out about their father, David, who died 10 years earlier – and whom she’d never met. She spends the weekend with Amy and Amy’s mother, Julie. Scarlett soon finds that she is less than welcome in Julie’s household and that there is a wall of silence about David. Even so, during the course of the weekend, the relationship between Amy and Scarlett softens and they begin to accept each other. Amy starts to open up about David, revealing a caring father and husband. However, the same night, during dinner with the whole family, serious doubts are cast on the image of David that Amy had conveyed to Scarlett. As the evening progresses, Scarlett digs deeper. When the truth is finally revealed, it shatters the stability of the family, causing all of the family and Scarlett to reassess their relationship to one another.

This is the debut feature film from British filmmaker James G. Wall. Shot over 14 days in July 2012 for £250. The film was debut on YouTube at the end of June 2013, making it one of the (if not the) first film to premiere on YouTube. In 2014 it was featured in national publication Digital Filmmaker Magazine.

Hello, I'm James G. Wall, a filmmaker from Leeds. I made the feature film The Truth About Romance, I released it on YouTube and it's gone on to reach over 2 million views.

So, a little history about me. Like most filmmakers, I imagine, I had a fascination with films and filmmaking from a young age. Starting with filming anything with my parents video camcorder to making short films with friends in my teens. I eventually went to study filmmaking at Leeds College of Art, and graduated in 2010 with a First Class Degree.

After I graduated I thought I was a big deal! I had a top degree and a really good grad short film (Fish Food). When I originally uploaded it to YouTube and it did the rounds I got great feedback. I thought everybody would want to work with me. I soon found out that wasn't the case, and the advice I was given was to get some experience.

I spent a few months looking for experience, but I didn't really find much, I managed to do a couple of days on a feature film, which was great. Other than that there wasn't much experience to gain in Yorkshire. I spent a lot of this time practicing and improving my writing, whilst making contacts and networking.

It was around then I decided to make my own experience, and I made a ton of short films and uploaded them to YouTube.

I'd always known I wanted to be a writer/director, but whilst I was studying I took advantage of learning every aspect of filmmaking, I worked on fellow students projects in a variety of roles. I'd also invested much of my student loan on equipment and software.

This made making short films much easier when I'd left college. I didn't have to rely on a sound guy, editor etc, I could do it myself. I had all the tools to get out there and start creating.

I set myself weekly challenges to see what I was capable of. See if I could write, shoot, edit and upload a short film in one week. My portfolio really started to grow. It also gave me the opportunity to work with local actors. Plus it was a great way to practice my craft, as well as shooting with no budget and limited time. Time has always been my worst nightmare, but whilst making short films I'd developed my own style and techniques of shooting quickly.

I'd average a few hundred views per short film on YouTube, although I had a small audience they seemed to really enjoy what I was making.
The problem with YouTube is it's massively over saturated, and there's millions of videos being uploaded every day. If I wanted to get noticed I knew I had to do something really special.

In the Summer of 2011 I started thinking about the idea of making a feature film. I started making a few notes, story lines, ideas etc, but didn't really think much more about it. However, I'd started telling some of the actors I'd been working with that I wanted to make a feature film and they were up for it, completely onboard with the idea.

By the end of 2011 I was determined to make it. I had an idea I really liked.

I spent a couple of weeks in January writing the script, then a couple more in February and by March I had the first draft finished.
I sent the script to some of the actors I had in mind whilst writing it, and they loved it. They knew I had no money so agreed to work for free.
It was finding the rest of the cast and locations which was challenging. Plus, I was pretty much doing all this on my own. I'm still shocked today that I managed to pull it together.
